Our Team & Approach:
A Team Built Around Every Youth
At The Hemple Shelter, quality care begins with the people providing it. Our multidisciplinary team brings together experienced residential care professionals, clinical providers, nursing support, behavioral specialists, case management, and trained direct-care staff to provide structured, compassionate, trauma-informed, and individualized support for every youth entrusted to our care.
We believe meaningful progress happens when youth are surrounded by caring adults who work together with consistency, respect, accountability, and purpose.
Our Professional Team
Our residential treatment program is supported by a multidisciplinary team that may include:
- Administrator & Program Leadership – Provides organizational leadership, regulatory oversight, program development, quality assurance, and accountability for the overall delivery of services.
- Program Director – Oversees day-to-day programming and helps ensure services, treatment plans, staff practices, and youth activities are implemented consistently.
- Clinical & Therapeutic Professionals – Provide therapeutic services and clinical guidance based on each youth's individual strengths, needs, experiences, and treatment goals.
- Nursing & Medical Support – Supports health-related needs, medication management, health education, coordination of care, and communication with healthcare providers.
- Behavioral Support Professionals – Help develop and implement strategies that strengthen emotional regulation, coping skills, positive behavior, and successful daily functioning.
- Case Management & Support Services – Coordinate services, documentation, appointments, education, family connections, transition planning, and communication with members of each youth's service team.
- Youth Care Professionals – Provide 24-hour supervision, structure, mentoring, encouragement, and support while helping youth practice healthy behaviors and independent-living skills in everyday situations.
Our Approach to Care
At The Hemple Shelter, we recognize that behavior often communicates an underlying need. Our approach is designed to look beyond the behavior and understand the experiences, strengths, challenges, and needs of the individual youth.
Our services incorporate trauma-informed principles and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) strategies to help create an environment built around connection, structure, felt safety, healthy relationships, and personal growth.
Treatment and support are individualized and informed by assessment, observation, treatment planning, professional recommendations, and ongoing collaboration with the youth’s service team.
Individualized & Collaborative Care
No two youth have exactly the same story, needs, or goals. For that reason, we believe treatment should never be one-size-fits-all.
We collaborate with youth, families and caregivers when appropriate, placing agencies, caseworkers, healthcare professionals, therapists, schools, behavioral health providers, and other members of the youth’s service team.
Together, we work toward goals that may include:
- Emotional and behavioral stability
- Healthy coping and self-regulation skills
- Positive relationships and communication
- Educational progress
- Independent and transitional living skills
- Personal responsibility and decision-making
- Family and community connections
- Successful transition to the next appropriate level of care
